Clever King

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

ا سَـــــــلاَمُ عَلَيــْــكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكـَـاتُه

There was a country long time ago where the people would change a king every year. The person who would become the king had to agree to a contract that he would be sent to an island after his one year of being a king.

One king finished his term and it was time for him to go to the island and live there. The people dressed him up in expensive clothes and put him on an elephant and took him around the cities to say goodbye to all the people. This was the moment of sadness for all the kings who ruled for one year. After saying farewell, the people took the king with a boat to the remote island and left him there.

On their way back, they discovered a ship that had sunk just recently. They saw a young man who survived by holding on to a floating piece of wood. As they needed a new king, they picked up the young man and took him to their country. They requested him to be a king for a year. First he refused but later he agreed to be a king. People told him about all the rules and regulations and that how he will be sent to an island after one year.

After three days of being a king, he asked the ministers if they could show him the island where all the other kings were sent. They agreed and took him to the island. The island was covered with thick jungles and sounds of vicious animals were heard coming out of them. The king went little bit inside to check. Soon he discovered the dead bodies of all the past kings. He understood that as soon as they were left in the island, the animals came and killed them.

The king went back to the country and collected 100 strong workers. He took them to the island and instructed them to clean the jungle, remove all the deadly animals and cut down all the excess trees. He would visit the island every month to see how the work was progressing. In the first month, all the animals were removed and many trees were cut down. In the second month, the whole island was cleaned out. The king then told the workers to plant gardens in various parts of the island. He also took with himself useful animals like chickens, ducks, birds, goats, cows etc. In the third month, he ordered the workers to build big houses and docking stations for ships. Over the months, the island turned into a beautiful place.

The young king would wear simple clothes and spend very little from his earnings as a king. He sent all the earnings to the island for storage. When nine months passed like this, the king called the ministers and told them:

"I know that I have to go the island after one year, but I would like to go there right now." But the ministers didn't agree to this and said that he has to wait for another 3 months to complete the year.

3 months passed and now it was a full year. The people dressed up the young king and put him on an elephant to take him around the country to say goodbye to others. However, this king is unusually happy to leave the kingdom.

People asked him, "All the other kings would cry at this moment and why are you laughing?"

He replied, "Don't you know what the wise people say? They say that when you came to this world as a baby, you were crying and everyone was smiling. Live such a life that when you are die, you will be smiling and everyone around you will be crying. I have lived that life. While all the other kings were lost into the luxuries of the kingdom, I always thought about the future and planned for it. I turned the deadly island into a beautiful abode for me where I can stay peacefully."

The moral lesson from this story is about how we should live our life. The life of this world is to prepare for the life hereafter. In this life, we shouldn't get lost into the deceiving and attractive things of this world and forget about what is to come in the afterlife. Rather, even if we are kings, we should live a simple life like our beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) and save all our enjoyments for the hereafter. May Allah make it easy for us all. Amin.

A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call as soon as possible. He changed His clothes and went directly to the surgery block.

He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the dad suddenly yelled.

"Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know my son's life is in danger? Don't you have any sense of responsibility?

The doctor managed a weak smiled and said back, "I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital but I came as fast as I could after receiving to call... I wish you'd calm down while my team work our very best, InsyaAllah"

"Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son is dying how you would react and what will you do??" said the father angrily.

The doctor smiled again and replied, “Just pray hard to Allah s.w.t, from He we were created and to Him we will return.”

"Giving advises when we're not concerned is so easy" Murmured the father.

The surgery took a few painstaking hours and then the doctor went out, a glimpse of relieved shown on his face.

“Alhamdulillah, your son is saved." And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running.

"Why is he so arrogant? Couldn't he wait for some minutes so that I can ask about my son's state?" Said the father to a nearby nurse as soon as he saw the doctor left.

The nurse answered, tears coming down her face, "His son died yesterday in a road accident, He was in the burial when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life he left running to finish his son's burial."

Reaching Out to Others

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

ا سَـــــــلاَمُ عَلَيــْــكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكـَـاتُه

When you are suffering, reach out in two ways.

First, go to someone you can trust and tell him or her about your problems. There is value in sharing your pain. You may not want to burden someone else,
but a true friend will be there for you
and will be happy to listen.
There is a proverb: Happiness shared is happiness doubled; sadness shared is sadness halved.

A true friend would do anything in his power to help you.

Second, reach out to others who are in pain and comfort them. You may think you have nothing to offer, but you’d be surprised what a little bit of gentleness can do. A kind word and a pat on the shoulder can do wonders, and in the process you will experience a human moment, a connection, that will help you with your own problems as well.

Don't forget to reach out to ALLAH when you need guidance.
When you need understanding and peace. When you feel lonely and lost.
When it feels like the whole world has turned up-side down. He is the only one that is trustworthy and that will never fail you.
While people can be of comfort and help, nobody can substitute our relationship with ALLAH.
It is the only relationship that matters.

Prophet Muhammad had said

(Bukhari, Muslim and Ahmad)

So tonight, let go of your grudges and sleep with a clean heart.
Tomorrow the day is new, and life goes on.
You have far to go and much to do. Look ahead, with a sunrise in your eyes.
Start the new day with ALLAH as your guide.

PS: Pray for your friends, your family and your Muslim brothers out there : )

A couple, whom we shall call Reiichi and Aisha, had a nice home and two lovely children, a boy and a girl. Reiichi had a good job and had just been asked to go on a business trip to another city and would be gone for several days. It was decided that Aisha needed an outing and would go along too. They hired a reliable woman to care for the children and made the trip, returning home a little earlier than they had planned.

As they drove into their home town feeling glad to be back, they noticed smoke, and they went off their usual route to see what it was. They found a home in flames. Aisha said, "Oh well it isn't our fire, let's go home."

But Reiichi drove closer and exclaimed, "That home belongs to Ibrahim who works at the plant. He wouldn't be off work yet, maybe there is something we could do."

"It has nothing to do with us." Protested Aisha. "You have your good clothes on let’s not get any closer."

But Reiichi drove up and stopped and they were both horror stricken to see the whole house in flames. A woman on the lawn was in hysterics screaming, "The children! Get the children!" Reiichi grabbed her by the shoulder saying, "Get a hold of yourself and tell us where the children are!" "In the basement," sobbed the woman, "down the hall and to the left."

In spite of Aisha's protests Reiichi grabbed the water hose and soaked his clothes, put his wet handkerchief on his head and bolted for the basement which was full of smoke and scorching hot. He found the door and grabbed two children, holding one under each arm like the football player he was. As he left he could hear some more whimpering.

He delivered the two badly frightened and nearly suffocated children into waiting arms and filled his lungs with fresh air and started back asking how many more children were down there. They told him two more and Aisha grabbed his arm and screamed, "Adam! Don't go back! It's suicide! That house will cave in any second!"

But he shook her off and went back by feeling his way down the smoke filled hallway and into the room. It seemed an eternity before he found both children and started back. They were all three coughing and he stooped low to get what available air he could. As he stumbled up the endless steps the thought went through his mind that there was something strangely familiar about the little bodies clinging to him, and at last when they came out into the sunlight and fresh air, he found that he had just rescued his own children.

The baby-sitter had left them at this home while she did some shopping.

The Magic Word

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

ا سَـــــــلاَمُ عَلَيــْــكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكـَـاتُه

A preacher was once giving a sermon to a large audience in the mosque. In the course of it he said: "O People! I tell you the truth. If only you knew the power of the sentence Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful), you would say it before every action of yours. Whoever says these words before beginning any act will see wonders. One will even be able to walk on water."

A poor villager, Reiichi, who was sitting close to the pulpit, listened to this sermon attentively. Reiichi was a regular visitor to the mosque although his journey from his home was a very difficult one because he had to cross a large river on the way. Poor villager did not have a boat and often had to wait until someone appeared who could transport him across. The route around the river was extremely long. However, when the poor villager heard this sermon, he realized that he had found the solution to his problem.

When Reiichi reached the river on his way back, he did not hesitate, but recited 'Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful)' and stepped onto the water. By the grace of Allah (SWT) he was able to walk on the water and soon reached the other side. This became a regular practice for Reiichi, until one day, as he was crossing the river; it occurred to him that he had not thanked the preacher who had given him the solution to his problem. Reiichi decided to invite him to his house for a meal as a way of showing his gratitude to him.

The preacher accepted the invitation and both of them began walking back to the poor villager's house. On reaching the river, the poor villager recited 'Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful)' and stepped out onto the water, as was his normal routine. Reiichi expected the preacher to do the same. But when he looked behind, he found that the preacher was still standing on the bank looking at him in bewilderment. The man told him to recite 'Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful)' just as he had preached.

"My dear villager, I lack the faith/trust that you have," replied the preacher.

Moral of the Story: Teaching and acting on the words taught with trust is not the same. Also we must inculcate the habit of reciting 'Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful)' before everything that we say or do in this life.

Friendship of Ali R.A and Abu Bakar R.A

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

ا سَـــــــلاَمُ عَلَيــْــكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكـَـاتُه

Your BEST FRIEND is a person:

*When you see him, he makes you remember Allah

*When you listen to him, knowledge of Islam is increased

*When you see his actions, you are reminded of the life of the Hereafter.

Abu Bakar (R) and Ali (R) were walking towards each other one day. They passed by each other and neither greeted the other. In Arabic culture it is customary for the younger to greet the
elder.

Later that day Abu Bakr (R) saw Ali (R) and asked him, ”
Are you upset with me?”  because he had not greeted him.

ALi (R) replied, “No, but last night i had a dream. In the dream i saw a beautiful palace in paradise. I asked who’s palace it was and an angel told me it is for the brother who greets the other first. I was waiting for you to greet me because i wanted you to have the palace.” Abu Bakr then told him, “Last night i had the same dream too. I was waiting for you to greet me because i also wanted you to have the palace.”

MasyaAllah...how about ourselves? T_T"

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) said:

“The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of the seller of musk, and the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows. So as for the seller of musk then either he will grant you some, or you buy some from him, or at least you enjoy a pleasant smell from him. As for the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows then either he will burn your clothes or you will get an offensive smell from him.”
                                                                                                          (Bukhari and Muslim)

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said:

“You will not enter Paradise until you have faith and you will not have faith until you love one another. Do you want me to tell you something you can do to make you love one another? Make it a habit to greet one another with “Assalaamualaikum” – peace upon you”.

I Want to Marry Her

ا سَـــــــلاَمُ عَلَيــْــكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكـَـاتُه

Once there was a boy named Reiichi who saw a young and beautiful girl and decided to marry her. Reiichi said to his father: “I saw a girl and I want to marry her. She is so beautiful and she has gorgeous eyes. The father answered his son: of course son, let’s ask for her hand in marriage.”

When the father saw the girl, he admired her beauty and he told Reiichi: “You don’t deserve this girl, she needs someone who has experience in life and she can depend on, someone like me.”

Reiichi was surprised by the attitude of his father and he told him: “She will marry me, not you”. They started to fight and finally they decided both to go to the police station to solve their problem.

When they tell their story to the police officer, he told them: “bring the girl so we can ask her about her opinion about this.” When the officer saw the beauty of the girl he said to the boy and his father: “you both don’t deserve her, she needs someone who has prestige like me.”

The three men started a fight and decided to go to the minister to solve their problem. When the minister saw the girl, he said: “She deserves to be married with a minister like me”. The prince heard about their problem and calls them all to help them solve it but and when he saw the girl he said: “This girl will marry me”.

All the five men started to fight. Finally, the girl said “I have the solution! I will start to run and whoever catches me first, he will be my husband”. When she started to run, the boy, his father, the police officer, the minister and the prince started to run to catch her. Suddenly the 5 men fell into a deep hole.

Moral Black heart (cards) : The girl looked to them from the top and she said “do you know who I am?”

I am the Dunya - THE LIFE!!

People want to run to catch me, they are racing to have me. By doing that, they forget their religion, until they end up in their grave and still won’t have me.

Hidden Treasure

ا سَـــــــلاَمُ عَلَيــْــكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكـَـاتُه

A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn’t look like much, but they intrigued the man so he took the bag out of the cave with him.

As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could. He thought little about it until he dropped one of the balls and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone.

Excited the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure.

He found thousands of pounds worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left. Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he just threw it away.

It’s like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. It isn’t always beautiful or sparkling so we discount it. We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well known or wealthy. But we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that person by Allah SWT.

There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we take the time to get to know that person, and if we ask Allah SWT to show us that person the way He sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay.

May we see the people in our world as Allah SWT sees them.
