A Beggar

Once, there lived a man and his wife. As they were having dinner one night, there was a knock on the door. The wife opened it to see a beggar was standing outside the house in a light rain, filthy and hungry.

The wife felt pity for him and wanted to give some food to him, but being a good wife she asked her husband whether it is possible or not to give some leftovers. To her surprise, her husband refused and asked her to chase the beggar out.

Soon, the man’s business began to torn apart. Economy was bad and he suffered a huge burdens and debts. He was declared bankrupt and not to mention his bad attitude had caused his family to fall apart, he then divorced with his lovely wife.

As time flew by, the woman remarried with another man, who was a successful businessman and lived together happily by the city.

One day, a beggar came to his house and asked for food as they were having lunch. The wife felt pity and asked her husband whether she could give the poor man some food. Her husband agreed.

After she gave his some food she returned into the kitchen, crying. Her husband was puzzled and asked her why she was crying. The wife said, “Did you know who the beggar was just now asking for food? He used to be my husband.”

To her explanation the husband said, “Did you know who I actually was? I used to be the beggar who was chased out by your old husband!”
